www.gst.gov.in - How can a Taxpayer Register with GST through Online

How can a Normal Taxpayer register with GST?

1. Visit the website www.gst.gov.in

2. Click on the Services - Registration - New Registration link or click on REGISTER NOW under Taxpayers (Normal/TDS/TCS).


Select the New Registration option under New Registration page.

Select Taxpayer from the drop down for registering as a taxpayer.
Select the State and the district from the drop down list.
Enter the legal name of your business / entity as mentioned in the PAN.
Enter PAN of your business or Proprietor in the Permanent Account Number (PAN) column.
Enter the email address (Primary Authorized Signatory) in the EMAIL address field.
Enter the valid Indian mobile number (Primary Authorized Signatory) in the Mobile Number field

Enter the captcha as displayed in the image. 

Click on PROCEED button.


OTP Verification enter the OTP received on Mobile and  EMAIL.

Enter the OTP received on the Mobile Phone in the Mobile OTP field
Enter the OTP received on the Email in the Email OTP field

OTP valid for 10 Minutes.(OTP on Mobile Phone and EMAIL are different)

Click on PROCEED button.


System will generate Temporary Reference Number. Same will be received on your e-mail address and mobile number.

Click on PROCEED button.


In order to Login using Temporary Reference Number click Services - Registration - New Registration option and select the Temporary Reference Number radio button.

In the Temporary Reference Number, enter the TRN number and enter the captcha text.

Click the PROCEED button. 



Verify OTP page will be displayed. Enter the OTP received on you Mobile Phone and EMAIL. OTP will be same in both Mobile & EMAIL. OTP valid for 10 minutes. 

Click on PROCEED button.


My Saved Application will be displayed. click on Edit under the Action column. 

Applicant have to complete the application within 15 days otherwise the TRN and all the details will be removed. 

Once the application is submitted status will be changed from Draft to Pending for Validation.


Registration Application form will be displayed.

Fill all the details in each tabs.


Once all the Tabs are filled click on PROCEED button. For detailed instruction please click here.


Select the certificate from the box 

Click on the SIGN button.


Success message will be displayed. 

Application Reference Number (ARN) receipt will be is sent to your email and mobile phone.

Application status can be tracked using the Services - Registration - Track Application Status link.


SUBMIT WITH E-SIGNATURE:

Click the SUBMIT WITH E SIGNATURE button.


In the Please select Service Provider option, select the appropriate Service Provider.

Please select either C-DAC or NSDL under service provider C-DAC and  NSDL are e-sign Service Providers (Free of cost).

Tick the box (I Agree) and click n Continue.

An OTP will be sent to your e mail and mobile phone registered with Aadhaar.


Enter the OTP and click on Submit.
