NTSE Scholarship Apply Online, Eligibility, Fees, Selection, Procedure, Important Dates

https://scert.kerala.gov.in/ntse202021 - National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) for students studying in Class 10 is meant to identify the nurture talents. The examination is conducted every year at two levels: Stage - 1 (State Level) and Stage -II (National Level).

Eligibility

Students of Class 10 during the academic year (2020-2021) in any Government / Aided / Recognized Schools / Kendriya Vidyalaya / Navodaya Vidyalaya in Kerala are eligible to apply for the State level National Talent Search Examination (NTSE).

Students registered under Open Distance Learning (ODL) will also be eligible for scholarship provided the student is below the age of 18 years and is appearing in Class 10 examination for the first time.

Students who had scored not less than 55% marks (for SC/ST students it is not less than 50%) for all non language subjects in the qualifying examination of class IX (2019-2020) will be admitted for the examination.

Fees

General Category : Rs.250/- (including OBC, OEC, EWS)

SC/ST : Rs.100/-

Scholarships: About two thousand scholarships are awarded for different stages of education as follows :
(a) Scholarship of Rs. 1250/- per month for Class-XI to XII.
(b) Scholarship of Rs. 2000/- per month for Undergraduates and Post-graduates.
(c) Amount of Scholarship for Ph. D is fixed in accordance with the UGC norms.

Selection: 

Stage-1 selection will be done by States/UTs and those who are selected/recommended from Stage - I examination, will be eligible to appear for Stage -II examination, conducted by NCERT.

Qualifying Marks: 

Qualifying marks for candidates from SC / ST / PWD (Persons With Disability category is 32% in each paper and for others (General / OBC / OEC and EWS) categories it is 40% in each paper.

From among the candidates who are qualifying the stage I examination only 220 candidates will be selected for Stage II examination as per the quota and guidelines of NCERT.

Procedure of the Stage I Examination

The examination will be conducted in Two Parts of 120 minutes duration each.

Part I Mental Ability Test (MAT) comprises of 100 objective type questions. 

Part II Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) comprises of 100 objective type questions from Social Science, Science and Mathematics.

Date of Examination is 13.12.2020

Part 1: MAT consists of 100 objective type questions

10 am to 12 Noon: All candidates except disabled candidates
10 am to 12.30 PM: Disabled candidates only

Part 2: SAT consists of 100 objective type questions in Social Science, Science subjects & Mathematics.

1.30 PM to 3.30 PM: All candidates except disabled candidates
1.30 PM to 4.00 PM: Disabled candidates only

Stage II Examination

The Candidates who are qualifying the stage 1 Examination are eligible for appearing the National Level Examination (Stage II) which will be conducted by the NCERT. The Stage II examination will include the complete syllabus of Std X of CBSE.

Applications are to be submitted only through online mode.

Important Dates
Opening Date for the online application: 17th October 2020
Last Date for the submission of online application: 16th November 2020 5 PM
Last Date for the Verification of Application by the Principal: 20th November 2020 5 PM

Instructions for Submitting NTSE Online application

Before starting to fill up the online application, the candidate should keep at hand the following details / documents:
  • A Valid E-Mail account in GMAIL and Valid Mobile Phone Number
  • Credit Card, ATM-Debit Card, Rupay Card, UPI, NEFT/RTGS, Net Banking and challan mode for making Payment.
Once you visit the website read the instructions carefully and click on I agree.

Click on New Registration. 

Once you click on New Registration. Fill the details in the online application form.

Before submitting the application form, the candidates should carefully verify the data. After confirmation, editing is not possible. Once submitted, no changes in the application form will be entertained.

Select Scholarship you want to Register, 
Select Kind of Education, 
Fill Personal Details,  
Upload Passport size photo in digital form with following specification: Maximum Size : 60Kb, Image Dimension : 150W X 200H px, Image Type : jpg, 
Make Payment Online, after completing the payment furnish the details in the column provided, 
Fill Contact details, 
Fill Institution details, 
Fill Login details and click on Register.

Certificates like Caste Certificate for SC / ST, OBC (Non -Creamy Layer as per central list), Economically Weaker Section (EWS) certificate from the competent authority, Disability Certificate from Medical Board (Each Certificate must be scanned in pdf format and size should not exceed more than 500 kb).
