How to Reach Lakshadweep Island using Flight / Ship?

There are 35 islands in Lakshadweep. The total area of the 35 islands is a mere 32 sq km and the area of the lagoons enclosed by the coral reef about 700 sq km, the extended sea zone is more than 7,00,000 sq km.

How to Reach Lakshadweep Island using Flight / Ship? 

Lakshadweep can be reached by ships and flights operated from Kochi / Cochin. For all tourist purposes Kochi is the gate way to Lakshadweep.

Agatti and Bangaram islands can be reached by flight from Kochi. 

Indian Airlines operate flights from Kochi. 

Onward flights from Kochi are available to most of the airports in India and abroad. 

Airstrip is there in Agatti island only. 

From Agatti boats are available to Kavaratti and Kadmat during fair season October to May. 

Helicopter transfer is available from Agatti to Kavaratti during monsoon season subjected to availability of helicopter. 

Flight from Cochin to Agatti takes approximately one hour and thirty minutes.

There are 7 passenger ships operate between Cochin and Lakshadweep islands.

During fair season, high speed vessels operate between islands.

Best Time to Visit Lakshadweep

Best time to visit Lakshadweep is between the months of September and May. 

Temperature remains between 22°C to 36°C 

One can take part in adventures like surfing, swimming, canoeing, snorkeling, scuba diving, water skiing, kayaking and so on.

The peak season in Lakshadweep is from December to February.
